Safety
Teeth whitening is a well-established procedure in cosmetics dentistry. The same active agent in the whitening process has been safely used for many years in the treatment of gum and other oral soft tissue.
Whitening procedures usually effectively transform discoloured teeth. Darker stains, such as those caused by antibiotics, may take longer to respond to treatment. The degree of whiteness will vary from customer to customer, depending on the structure of the teeth, the number of applications, or the duration of time that the system is used. Extensive research has shown that hydrogen peroxide which is in alkaline form, does not react with the minerals of tooth structure. The wy10 range of products use by smilestudio is very safe to enamel of the teeth with pH between 9-10, which is alkaline.
Hydrogen peroxide reacts only with the colour substances (stain
molecules) in the tooth in breaking down and removing the C=C chains in the
stain molecules.
The wy10 Thermal Diffuser use by smilestudio
is very safe and gentle on the teeth by raising only a few
degrees in temperature on the gel surfaces which are painted on
the teeth during the wy10 Chairside Whitening. The slight
increase in temperature enhances the penetration of the
whitening gel inside the teeth surfaces removing the stain
molecules in the teeth more effectively. No harmful UV radiation
is used.
